Developed in connection with a federally driven project to facilitate improved forecasting and timely information for the more efficient and effective treatment and maintenance of winter roads, Iwapi has expanded its AVL system to collect real-time data from state snowplows and equipment.  Data is shared with applicable federal, state and private entities for the better monitoring and prediction of weather patterns and trends.

Smart devices, loaded with AVL-MDSS software, specially configured touch screen monitors, GPS units, and other equipment, collect and transmit information.  Web based applications allow managers and other personnel to monitor the current location and data from vehicles in the field.
